Someone asked me the other day, tell me about your essential self: what makes you – you? This invitation was a welcome one. We are so used to speaking of ourselves in terms of our jobs, our relationships, our interests. What is essential? I found, to be asked “what is essential?” is to be asked: what is on your heart? What matters for you in this jumble of it all?

In truth, I think we live the answer to this question in the arc of a lifetime. And. Being asked is what draws me to this space. In coaching you will find the invitation of a question, harvested of curiosity and compassion, to nourish and enrich you in your continual unfolding. While our lives are seasonal, cyclical, even, I have found that there is, even in the depths of winter, movement.

A little about me, to answer the question what is on your heart? Today, I find, I am where I come from and I am the light that guides each small step forward. I come from a lineage of strong women, and I am myself, a sister and a daughter and a mother to living and lost children. With this lineage, I inherited a faith I now call my own: I believe in a higher power who created and is creating in and through each of us, who does so in an imperfect world, and who loves us all. I have walked a winding career path, which today, I’m grateful includes being a coach and a writer. With each change, I carried a fear of what’s next, until my curiosity became so irresistible, that I could not not take the next right step. Only then did I realize: I never stopped moving. I never stopped unfolding.

And so I come to this work – of coaching and writing – grounded in a commitment to witness and then to explore, some of these questions that you carry: what matters? and what gets in the way? and when you are ready, what is the next right step, that is, what do you need to return to your creative self and to move forward with courage on your unique journey?
